General Duties • Contribute to management of Afyapro (Health Information Management System) ensuring it effectively supports delivery of: 1) healthcare services, 2) management and administration and 3) monitoring & evaluation; • Ensure ICT security specifically managing access, usage, identity, server, backup, disaster recovery, data archiving, continuous update and upgrade; • Carry out research and development on Health Information management Afyapro System and advice the management on inputs necessary to enhance ICT services; • Support management to ensure effective and efficient use of resources including minimization of wastage (encourage reuse, recycling and printing on both sides); • Manage and oversee well functioning of SFRH ICT tools like communication, database operations and service-management tools, ensuring they effectively contribute to delivery of healthcare services, administration and monitoring & evaluation; • Ensure the health management system produces timely reports according to demand Data Management: • Maintains database by entering new and updated customer and account information • Verifies entered customer and account data by reviewing, correcting, deleting, or reentering data; combining data from both systems when account information is incomplete; purging files to eliminate duplication of data. • Secures information by completing data base backups. • Maintains customer confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. Medical Records Management • Maintains medical records operations by following policies and procedures; reporting needed changes. • Initiates medical record by searching master patient index; identifying existing patient records or need to assign a new number; interacting with registration areas and physicians' offices for information verification; processing or creating the record folder. • Ensures medical record availability by routing records to admissions and emergency departments, physicians, and other authorized hospital staff; maintaining chart location systems. • Completes medical record by reviewing information; notifying health care providers of record deficiencies; tracking outstanding records; notifying medical director of physicians in jeopardy of losing admitting privileges. • Maintains historical reference by abstracting and coding clinical data, such as diseases, operations, procedures, and therapies, using standard classification systems; filing documents. • Prepares statistical reports by collecting and summarizing medical care and census information, such as types of diseases treated, surgery performed, and use of hospital beds. • Maintains patient confidence and protects hospital operations by keeping information confidential; following release-of-information protocols. • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
