AIRTEL Tanzania has vowed to continue supporting the government in its goal to improve delivery of education services through donation of textbooks to Mukulat Secondary School in Arumeru District, Arusha Region.

The firm said in a statement that there were still many infrastructure and resources challenges in many schools leading to poor performance of students, especially in science subjects.

“One of the most acute challenges is lack of textbooks and other teaching aids,” it said. Speaking at the 17th graduation ceremony at the Mukulat Secondary School, Airtel Kilimanjaro Sales Manager Paschal Bikomagu said “Airtel is today providing much needed sciences text books to Mukulat.

“We believe that this will enable students and teachers to do better and lift academic standards at the school.” The Headteacher of the school, Mkee Vitalis Martine, commended Airtel’s support indicating that the donation has brought the schools’ student to book ratio to 2:1.
