A local firm, Citizen Institute, intends to dish out non- interest loans to 1,000 entrepreneurs countrywide, who are short of capital to start up or expand their businesses.
The plan was unveiled by the company’s Executive Director Lilian Wassira when inaugurating the new branch at Mlandizi, Coast Region.
“We support entrepreneurs, widows, the disabled, uneducated youths. So we will start to give loans to entrepreneurs in each region so as to establish ventures and raise incomes,” he said.
He also said that the loans will be based on the line of business and at no interest charge, as the case with other loan issuers.
He said each entrepreneur will showcase their businesses in order to receive the loan.
According to him, the loans will be issued to groups so that it is easy for them to pay back, allowing other groups to obtain loans.
